KINDLE DIRECT PUBLISHING – Print on Demand
A PHONE Seminar
with Daniel Slater, Principal, Independent Publishing, Kindle Global Content
THURSDAY, APRIL 20, 2017
Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) has a new (Beta) program that offers the opportunity to publish paperbacks in addition to Kindle eBooks. They will be adding even more print-related features in the future, like proof copies, author (wholesale) copies, and expanded distribution to bookstores and non-Amazon websites. CreateSpace still offers these features, and KDP will offer them as well.
Publishing a paperback can help you reach new readers. KDP prints your book (print on demand) and subtracts your printing costs from your royalties, so you don’t have to pay any costs upfront or carry any inventory.
DANIEL SLATER, Principal, Independent Publishing, Kindle Global Content, will present an overview of making your POD paperback available by KDP:
– What making a book available for POD entails (overview, publishing specifics, economics, etc.)
– Ability to publish as a Kindle eBook simultaneously
– Best practices (metadata, product detail page information, etc.)
– Difference between publishing in print via KDP or via CreateSpace
– I’ve published a POD book (and hopefully the Kindle edition as well!) – what now?
– Free tools and services for authors to increase discoverability of their published book:
— Author Central
— Social Media
— Garnering reviews
He’ll also have time to answer questions.
