For our June general meeting, we’ve pulled together a panel of some of the smartest folks in the world of independent publishing and self-publishing. All successful authors as well as publishers, they’ll share their processes from the trenches, best promotion and sales strategies, their top lessons learned as well as wrong moves to avoid.

We’ll find out how they handle the following topics:

–       Amazon and Facebook advertising
as well as take your questions.

Our Presenters:  

 CHRISTOPHER J. LYNCH is the author of the One Eyed Jack series about a professional blackmailer who operates in and around the South Bay. The debut novel in the series was a 2013 Shamus Award finalist, and a 2014 Writers Digest honorable mention for genre fiction. One Eyed Jack first appeared on Amazon as a short story. The series is available in audiobook. He is currently working with a screenwriter to create a streaming series based on his character. He also authored Eddie: the Life and Times of America’s Preeminent Bad Boy, the authorized biography of the iconic child actor Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell from the TV series Leave it to Beaver).  CAROL J. AMATO is a writer, editor, publisher, and nonfiction book coach. After publishing 11 books traditionally and running a technical writing business, she saw an opportunity to start her own publishing company. Stargazer Publishing began with two evergreen, user-friendly versions of required style manuals written by Carol for the college market: The World’s Easiest Guide to Using the APA and The World’s Easiest Guide to Using the MLA. Stargazer then began taking on other authors and expanded its line to include not only college-level educational materials but also educational fiction and nonfiction books for the middle-grade market, fiction for adults, and how-to books for writers and entrepreneurs.  ALVA SACHS is an award-winning children’s author and the founder of Three Wishes Publishing Company. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education. Days in the classroom as well as a desire to be true to her vision for the books provided the inspiration to become an indie publisher.
